You seriously ought to look at setting up a Gmail account and then setting autoforward of all your Bigpond mail to Gmail. You can then set up IMAP for Gmail (or Exchange ActiveSync). From within Gmail you can make your mail appear to come from Bigpond if you want. Gmail/iPhone is a good combo.

Ok Telstra are changing users email servers from bigpond.com to live.com your current email address@ bigpond.com remains the same. New users after feb13 2013 will probably get a live.com email.
