If you are using windows. I found it to be a windows issue not SE. SE doesn't seem to override the DNS like other VPN apps do. I connect to multi NordVPN servers via the built in Windows VPN client using IKEv2 and it also reveals my local DNS. However when I use the NordVPN software it overrides it and shows the remote NORD DNS servers.
